Ireland’s Longest Cycling & Walking Trail
We are lucky to be situated on the Great Western Greenway, Ireland’s longest cycling and walking trail. At 42km the greenway runs from Westport to Achill Island taking in the stunning views and breathtaking coastlines of the Wild Atlantic Way.
The greenway is predominantly flat as it was originally used as a railway. Any ascents and descents are fairly gradual making it achievable by most of average fitness.
The Newport-Mulranny section of the Greenway is the most popular for families and those of moderate fitness. At 18km the section takes on average about 2-2.5 hours and has beautiful scenery and refreshment stops along the way.
